A Night of Fairytales

We had a delightful time co-creating a magical evening at Aerial CLT last Friday for "A Night of Fairytales".  From the moment that the ladies of Aerial CLT approached us about this idea, we knew that it was going to be an extra special event.

As much as we love delivering tasty morsels to your doorstep each week, it's a welcome change of pace to take meals from recipe creation to plating and having control of each step in between. When we heard the theme of the inaugural "Aerial CLT Dinner and a Show", our inventive brains went wild with ideas and our passion for collaborating with other local, creative-minded people lead us to gorgeous, thematic presentation of delicious, vegan fare.

When the guests first arrived, they were greeted with passed, Cinderella-inspired Pumpkin Arancini with Toasted Pepita Breadcrumbs, Midnight Sauce, as well as Whipped, Ranched Cannellinis, Smoked Jackfruit BBQ, Peashoots. As they milled about and had pictures taken at the photo booth, beer, wine and locally-made kombucha were offered.

As the attendees found their way to their seats and settled in for the evening, fragrant, warming mulled wine was served in tea cups.

Next up, the performers took the stage in a group number of "Be Our Guest", from the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. As the piece started, we delivered the main course, Golden Polenta, French Lentil and Mushroom Ragu, Macadamia
Parmesan, Family-style Seeded Baguette and Grey Stuff, Shaved
Apple and Fennel Salad with Arugula and Rosewater. Complete with Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and the feather dusters, these silks performers were a sight to behold.

As guests finished up their first course, they enjoyed a dark and eerie Little Red Riding Hood inspired trapeze solo, a energetically impressive silks/ground duet of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid and a haunting lyra-silk duet, featuring Wendy and one of the sirens of Neverland.

Dorothy took the stage next with a slightly different aerial silks take on The Wizard of Oz, as we brought out dessert, Mango Mousse, White Chocolate Cheesecake, Technicolor Berries, Poppy and Sesame Seed Brittle.

The night was winding down but not before the last performance. Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty graced the stage as they danced through a dream land in their lyra duet.

It was a magical, whimsical evening, filled with incredible performances, happy guests and a lovely partnership that we are very happy for. It is safe to say that we will be doing this again, so keep an eye out in 2018!
