If you've ever tried our Lemon-Ginger Tonic with Tumeric, you know that it is very tasty and so dang good for you! We could all use some additional nourishment of the immune system, which is why we are giving you our recipe so that you can give it a try at home (or feel free to grab some off of the menu with your next order).
Tonics are a fabulous way to hydrate and give your body the anti-inflammatory boost it needs. This lovely beverage can be enjoyed warmed or chilled and will give you a bright flavor to lift your spirit and warm you.
Nourishing Lemon Ginger Tonic
Makes 7 cups
1/2 cup ginger, washed, sliced (no need to peel)
1/8 tsp cayenne
1/3 tsp turmeric
1/4 tbsp black pepper
1/2 cup maple syrup
7 cups water, filtered
Add everything to a non-reactive saucepan and bring to a simmer
cook for 10 minutes
allow to sit 10 minutes
strain and chill
once cold, add lemon juice:
1/2 cup lemon juice (fresh squeezed preferred)
